Blind pedestrians aren’t the only people complaining that hybrid autos may be too quiet for safety. Emergency workers say the vehicles pose special challenges at accident scenes, where it’s hard to tell if their high-voltage batteries are coursing deadly charges.

Today’s motorists all want to buy hybrid cars because of their special ability to save gas. These cars are extremely popular among others. But recently, some of the first responders of hybrid cars are wondering and worried about this new question: How safe are hybrid cars?
